Hi Families,
We are winding up our Science Week today with one last day filled with experiments. The students have really enjoyed learning more about the scientific process by completing all of these fun experiments.
This week we will have our second round of MAP testing for the year. We will be testing on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:00-1:30.
Reading-- We will begin Theme 13 about Making Laws. The reading strategy that students will practice for this theme is how to Monitor Understanding.
Spelling-- Our Rigby list this week focuses on 'contractions'. The extenstion list contains the suffix '-ology' which means "the study of".
Writing-- Students will revise, edit and publish the Persuasive Essay that they are writing.
Math-- We will be finishing up our study on Fractions tomorrow and will then begin a unit about Perimeter.
Science-- As I mentioned above we will be completing our Science Week today.
Here is a current timeline of due dates for Scienc Fair Projects:
* Today--Materials and Procedures
* Friday, May 4-- Data and Conclusion
* Monday, May 7-- Pictures, Title, any miscellaneous things students would like to add to their board
* Friday, May 11-- Science Fair!!!
Reminder: I am collecting $1.50 from each child for the display board that each project will be displayed on.
