I sent out a sign-up email earlier today for the International Festival. The committee would like for you to sign-up for food by next Thursday.
Math -
We will be finishing Topic 7 unit this week. The class will review for the test on Wednesday and take the test on Thursday. The next topic we move into will be covering the relationship between multiplication and division. We will be learning fact families and I have reminded the kids to practice their multiplication facts at home as this will help their division too!
Reading -
This week will be State Assessment Reading Boot Camp. Each teacher will review a specific skill that pertains to the reading state test. The topics reviewed will be compare/contrast, test-taking strategies, text features, main idea, prefixes/suffixes, retelling and context clues.
The students will be given a homework assignment Tuesday through Monday based on one of these concepts.
Spelling -
There will be no spelling this week because of the reading boot camp! :)
Social Studies/Writing -
We will continue to work on our country research paper this week. We will really focus on the final touches such as bibliographies, cover pages, and the format of the paper.
