Happy Holidays!!! This will be a very fun and eventful week here at school. We have lots of holiday activities planned as well as, finishing up some important learning for the 2nd quarter.
That's right, Friday is the last day of the 2nd quarter! Can you beleive we are halfway through the year already?! Report cards will come home after winter break.
Our holiday party will be Thursday at 3:00.
There is a minimum day on Friday. Students will dismiss at 12:10.
School resumes on Jan.5th for students
Spelling Bee
This year the 3rd graders are being included in the school Spelling Bee. We will have our class spelling bee tomorrow, Tuesday, to determine who the two students will be that will represent our class. I gave the boys and girls a packet of spellling words about 2 weeks ago. That is the packet they need to study not only for the class bee, but the school-wide spelling bee, as well.
Reading
We completed our recycling theme last week, so instead of beginning a new theme and only getting halfway through it, we will spend this week practicing a variety of reading strategies while we enjoy some holiday literature.
NO SPELLING THIS WEEK!
Math
Money is focus for the week. This is not part of our math program but is an important concept for the students to learn. There will NOT be a math test this week.
Science
We will finish studying inventors and inventions this week.
